Programmable Cigarette Smoking Simulator
TR 2022 018975 BA laboratory system built for dental research into the staining, surface roughness and surface topography effects of cigarette smoke on dental phantoms. What sets it apart from the setups described in the literature is that it simulates all three phases of the smoking process under conditions close to a real mouth.
| Operating principle | Two synchronised motor systems: cigarette positioning + injection piston |
|---|---|
| Oral chamber | Average intraoral volume |
| Sample placement | Upper/lower jaw phantom |
| Programmability | Smoking profile (volume, hold time, cycle count) |
| Inhalation volume | Set by ΔV = K · n · λ |
| Smoke extraction | 2 fans + duct |
| Supply | — to be completed |
